Summer is a great time to read.  We have more "free time" and can read the books we want to read when we want to read them. The downside is that we might not see our friends to share what we just read.  When school begins in September we soon forget about what we did in the summer and we miss the exciting experience of sharing a "first read" with our friends. 

Thus, the reason for this BLOG  (WEB LOG).

From now through the month of September, you will be able to recommend and talk about books that you read this summer with your friends.  Here are a few guidlines to help you with your sharing:

  1. Give the Genre (fiction or non-fiction) 

2. Give Title, Author, & Illustrator

3. Comments should be about WHAT YOU LIKED, WHAT YOU DIDN'T LIKE, WHAT YOU WONDERED ABOUT, and WHO WOULD ENJOY THIS BOOK.

4. Also tell if the book is part of a series.  If it is, compare it to other books in the series.  If not, compare it to other books you have read by the same author.

This is my first BLOG ever.  I will be working out the "bugs" in the use of this blog.  I would also like your comments about this BLOG - What you like about it,and If you would like more BLOGS in the future.

IMPORTANT!  I do not have class lists for the 2009-2010 school year yet so you will have to go to your class from last year.  If you are going into 6th grade this year you can still respond to this blog because my class name lists are for from the 2008-2009 school year.
