Description: Western Expansion

Western expansion is a controversial subject in American History.  Did our divine future really mean we had the duty to exterminate a culture that had been present on the plains for years without interruption from the European settlers?  In the end are the additions to American culture and power more beneficial than the negatives?  Do the resulting benefits outweigh our methods?
