BR: Summarize chapters 1 and 2 on a sheet of paper.
1 – Pass back graded papers/work
2 – Lord of the Flies
     -    share summaries
     -    review themes
             o   add themes next to each study guide question as applicable
     -    character review
             o   select which character most resembles you and tell me why
2 – Grammar
     -    Pronoun/antecedent agreement worksheets (see attached)
HW: Chapter 3 of Lord of the Flies AND study guide questions (section for Ch. 3 and 4, questions 1-3) AND 2 post-it notes

BR: “Completing the Sentence” for unit 10
1 – Vocabulary Unit 10
     -    “Completing the Sentence”
2 – Transcendentalist Poetry
     -    Review Whitman, Dickinson, Frost
            o   Whitman style: longer, free verse, no rhyme, focus on individuality and the beauty 
                  of human uniqueness, life and death as a cycle
            o   Dickinson style: use of symbols and personification, use of dashes and
                  capitalization for intentional effects, focus on the human soul, life after death
                  (death as inevitable and welcome)
     -    Write your own poem!
            o   Use EITHER Whitman’s OR Dickinson’s style and at the end of the poem, tell me 
                  where in your poem I can find it…
3 – Grammar
     -    Pronoun/antecedent agreement worksheets (see attached)
HW: Chapter 10 vocab – use 5 words in a paragraph about your author/novel
