Description: Comment on what you learned from the FriendPage activity.
In class, we created "walls" based on profiles of real or imaginary people. As we wrote on these "walls", we were only able to see the previous person's comment, which was an answer to a question. Each person responded with a new question. After the "walls" were filled, the students walked around the classroom and read several different "walls". Students were asked to reflect upon how message threads work. That reflection continues here:
Are there pitfalls to commenting on the last thing posted without reading previous posts?

I think that this was a fun project. There were many silly comments but we learned about things. It is hard to understand the person without seeing the full page.

Hello, while reading through the blog and question i'd say that there are pitfalls to commenting on the last thing posted without reading previous post because there is always a chance that the thing you comment could be hurtful or irrelevant because you had no knowledge of what was previously stated.

Yes, you might not know what is being talked about. You may miss previous information. The resulr would be not making sense.

No, because people were suppose to answer based on the information they were given about their person.

There are numerous problems with blindly commenting on these "walls", mainly due to the fact that you dont know whether your comment pertains to the original statement.

I think people shouldn't be able to comment on their walls without reading it because they don't know what the person is like and you had to keep asking questions and they could be the same ones.

Yes, there are pitfalls to posting a comment without reading previous posts because a comment/response can be oblivious to previous things mentioned/said, therefore comments are blindly made.

Yes there are pitfalls to doing that because you may not know enough if any information about the subject the prior posts are about.

Yes, it probably can cause problems if you don't know all the imformation . I have read online commenting where people insult others without knowing the story, so my approval of this statement is more factually based.

Yes, because you just write comments without knowing what the previous person was talking about so your comments aren't relavant.

There are pitfalls. One has no idea of the previous comments which would obviously give you an idea of the situation and what it is you're talking about.

Yes, if you don't know what was already posted you may be repeating something someone already post, or you may ask a question completely irrelevant to the main idea.

One pitfall to the social media and FriendBook Inperticular is that anyone can post anything and it does not have to be related to preivious comments or posts.

I learned that that people have differant opinions. An example is Collin asked if someone enjoys football and that person answerd not really. Another question is do you like movies and a person answerd yes.

Yes, one pitfall is that if you comment without reading previous comments you may repeat a question that has already been asked. Another is that it does not allow you to build on any previous comments posted.

Yes, there are pitfalls to commenting on the last thing posted without reading previous posts. The topic of conversation might have changed throughout the comments and you don't always know what they are talking about. Someone might have also said something not related to the blog and you would then sound weird and confused if you commented based off of them. You should always read all of the comments to get a better idea of the blog.

I think there are. I mean, it makes an interesting coversation, but it also doesn't make sense. If someone asks a follow up question, without reading the previous post, you don't know what they mean or what to reply.
