The book Soul Surfer, written by Bethany Hamilton, is an auto-biography that inspires millions of people.  Bethany has a friend named Alana Blanchard lived in Hawaii, and they have been friends ever since they were born.  They did everything together.  Bethany had a dream that one day she would be a professional surfer.  When she was surfing one day with Alana, they were resting on their boards, Bethany’s arm dangling in the water.  When something flashed before their eyes.  Bethany’s arm had been bitten off by a 20 foot tiger shark.  She went into shock and all she could see was a cloud of red spreading through the water and a giant bite mark in her surf board.
