In the novel The Grim Grotto by, Lemony Snicket, the Baudelaire children are aflout on a toboggan in the waters of the Stricken Stream. After hours on the toboggan the children expierience rapid waters. Violet the oldest of the three children tied up her hair with a ribbon in order to think of a solution to get them out of the situation they were in. But at that moment Violet could not think up of any solution. Quikly a eye apeared out of the water. Violet, Klaus and Sunny knocked. A mans voice asked them the passeword and let them in. Inside the man showed them around the submerine. The Baudelaires then got into uniforms that the man gave them. The man whose submerine it was, is a man that works for V.F.D.the V.F.D is a organization that the children have been trying to understand since their friend Quigley got kidnapped. The Baudelaires and the man disscuse V.F.D. After the disscution  the children are lead to a suspicious corrider left wondering if the terrible parts of their lifes are finally over.
