In the book ''Finnikin of The Rock'' the group was surrounded by the "Yuts" and Finnikin was knocked out cold from the blood he lost. Evanjalin was determined to save them so she risked her life to try to talk to the "Yuts". When she was in the open she started to speak and the forest where the yut attacked from went silent.  As she was talking she said that they were there to journey the river in order to find one of the kings men. As soon as she stopped speaking a Yut leader appeared out from the tree line and took them to their Yut camp. There is where they healed Finnkin and put them on there journey. After Finnikin was healed they made there way to the kingdom of Osteria but on there way they ran into some no-good Charyn solders who were about to kill Lumatere exiles, so they were about to attack but saw a man on the top of a hill and shot an arrow at his feet with a note telling him he was Finnikin of the Rock. The man backed off and Finnkin and the group were approaching the solders when the man from the hill was next to Finnikin and now Finnikin saw who he was and it was a old friend. It was Lucian.
