In the novel, The Sea of Monsters by Rick Riordan several exciting scenes happen. First Percy is in gym and Matt Sloan (the bully) had a new crew of friends and it just so happened that Mat Sloan's friends were monsters. The monsters started attaking Percy, and his friend Tyson ended up saving him. Afterwards Percy is determined to get to Camp Half-Blood because he knows something is wrong. He gets to Camp Half-Blood and finds out that Chiron got fired because someone poisened Thalia's tree and Mr. D blamed it on Chiron. Later in the book they have chariot races and Demon pigeons attack so Percy and Annabeth try to kill them and make a mess of the race. Clarisse won the race and Tantalus told her to go on the quest to get the golden fleece.Finally,  Percy meets Hermes (Luke's dad) and he tells Percy to go on the quest even without Tantalus' permission. Percy goes on the quest. That is the first 8 chapters of The Sea of Monsters.
