Posted: 10/18/2013 04:13 PM
Telemachus arrived at the palace and his mother and nurse were overjoyed at his return. The suitors trying to get Telemachus's moms love were jealous. Odysseus arrived at the palace and was greeted by his old dog. His old dog died after a happy reunion with his owner. Athena told Odysseus to test the suitors to see if any of them were worthy to be spared. Odysseus and another beggar fought against each other for food. Odysseus had an easy win. Odysseus and Telemachus started their plan by taking down weapons from the wall to make sure that the suitors didn't have access to weaponry. Odysseus's wife asked the beggar (Odysseus) if he had any news about Odysseus. Odysseus's old nurse found out the beggar was Odysseus but didn't tell anyone. Odysseus's wife couldn't sleep knowing she had to pick a suitor to marry the next day. Standing aside his son Odysseus battled the suitors and killed them all. Odysseus told the nurse to tell his wife it was him but his wife was not sure. To prove it was him she said they were moving his bed nut he said it was impossible because he built it around a tree which proved to her that it was Odysseus.
