In the book The Hunger Games, lots of things happen. All the tributes have to show there skills to the capital. Katniss was the last person, her skills was shooting an arrow but instead of the target that they give her she shot it at a apple in a pigs mouth. The tributes showed there skills to get a score out of 12, Katniss got an 11 out of 12, they were all very shocked. The next day the tributes have to meet the capital by telling them about there life and what there strategy was to survive. Next all the tributes went to the arena, they had only a few seconds left and if you stepped of to early then you would blow up. When it began everyone headed for the supplies in the middle, when someone dies you would hear a cannon go off. Some of the other tributes wanted Katniss dead,they were called career tributes, they found her, Katniss ran as fast as she could, then she found out that Peeta joined the career tributes. Later that day when the career tributes where waiting for her to come done from the tree she was hiding in she saw someone in the other tree, her name was rue, she showed Katniss to drop the nest of tracker jakers on them.
