In the novel Chomp by Carl Hiaasen, Mickey Cray has a concussion and he can't work and feed his reptiles so Mrs.Cray has to go to China to teach Manderian Chinese to get some money for the Cray household. While she is gone, Mickey and Wahoo Cray meet the famous Derek Badger who is starring in the all-time favorite show Expidition Survival! Since Mickey Cray was a reptile person, Derek Badger needed his reptiles for the show. Unfortanitly, Derek doesn't have too much of an experience with real wild animals, and gets his nose nipped at by a snapping turtle, wrapped around with a cobra, and attacted by an alligator,and almost died during the alligator attack but luckily Mickey Cray saved him. Derek Badger was too full of himself that he cut Mickey cray out of the tape and claimed that he survived the attack on his own.
