In the One and Only Ivan the main charecter Ivan is an animal at the circus and he lives in a small glass cage.  Every night the janitors daughter , Julia comes and draws .  When Ivan draws his drawings sell for $20 ( $25 with the frame ) . The animals that are next to him are , Stella  she is an elaphant , Bob a dog that lives in Stella's domain . Ivan does not have any gorilla friends . Mack is the person that takes care of Ivan.  Stella hurts er foot then she has to still perform ,  When she comes back they have another elaphant , Ruby.The next morning Ruby tells Ivan why she was there , the reason was because her parents had been killed by humans.
