In continuation of the book Hoot by Carl Hiaasen Roy meets a girl named Beatrice who tells her she is the sister of the boy who doesn't wear shoes. Beatrice wants Roy to give her some of the medical things in his house and off they went to where her brother lived. They arrive and find him aching with pain and Roy insists on taking him to the hospital and use his identity to make sure the boys secret identity isn't uncovered.
       In the continuation of Hoot by Carl Hiaasen officer Delinko is not thrilled about being sent back to mission control but when he catches the intruder on the site of the pancake house he is back in the business and ready for action.
