So far in the novel Dork Diaries Tales from a Not-So Glam TV Star, Brandon asked Nikki to met at Fuzzy Friends to work on his project but Nikki forgot because she is so busy with the TV crew. Nikki got a call from Trevor Chase and told her that a girl will be working with them. The new girl was  Mackenze.Nikki and her friends did not like this because she would make it all about her. Nikki had the TV crew coming over to the house to film Nikki and her family but when the whole family heard they all started talking about having their own TV show. Nikki comes up with a great  idea to scare the TV crew by  pretending that Brianna, Nikki 's younger sister has the chicken pox and made the crew leave as soon as they saw Brianna. The plan worked and Nikki saved herself from embarrassment once again.
