In the book "The Cage" there is a girl named Riva who fights for her life in a work camp for Jews. Riva got blood poisoning and is very sleepy. The commandant yelled as loud as she could asking if there was anyone who is a doctor. But no one answered her, suddenly she said if there is no one that has medical experience then you will have no doctor. A unsteady voice came out of a young adult. She had two years of medical experience. Later on, Riva got worse, the blood poisoning was moving fast. After several days of having surgery Riva was not better, when Riva woke up she had seen that the doctor had no choice but to call the commandant. The doctor immediately stepped in between Riva and the commandant. The doctor was telling the commandant about how Riva's poems were the hope that kept the girls working. The doctor won the battle, which means that Riva will be going to a hospital for a real check up. Riva and a Nazi went from hospital to hospital looking for help but no one would let a Jew in. Finally the last hospital said that the doctor there would help Riva after all the other patents. Riva got better and someone came and scared the Nazis away. The Jews were finally free. Riva went home, to her old apartment.
