In the book The Hunger games, All the tributes have to go to the game makers to get a score on their survival skills,when it was katniss turn she went in and pick up the bow and arrows, since the game makers were not paying attention she shot in their general area at the apple in the pigs mouth. Later that night she saw that they scored her with a 11(the highest score you could get was a 12.)The next day all the tributes had to and introduce them-self to the capitol,also they had to get as many sponsors as possible. Next the went to the arena, as soon as the gong rang katniss sprinted for the bow and arrows but wasn't quick enough so she just grabbed the orange bag. Inside the orange bag was a container for water, a sleeping bag, and a knife. Katniss slept in a tree that night, when she woke someone started a fire underneath her tree. After the person started the fire, katniss heard run in feet through the pine needle and then the person who started the fire was dead. One day katniss was caught by the career tributes (a group of people who join together) she climbs up a tree and finds that in the tree next to hers was a little girl named Rue. Rue shows katniss that there are tracker jakers above her so katniss cuts the branch with her knife and they land on two of the girls from the career tributes. later Rue and katniss join together as allys.
