  WELCOME!

The Ridge Road Physical Education Program is full of fun, active, and challenging activities!

  PURPOSE

For students to learn to appreciate movement as an active and joyful experience.  Our P.E. program has been designed to focus on areas that contribute to one's physical health and well being.  Our program of games, sports, stunts & tumbling, fitness & rhythmic activities helps us meet our goals.

  GOALS

"To teach children the importance of fitness and involve them in regular, vigorous activity.

"To help students move skillfully and effectively not only in exercise, games, and sports, but also in active life situations.

"To build character and responsibility within our students so they may become productive citizens.

"To provide a safe and disciplined environment.

"For students to become stronger in the areas of problem solving and decision making.

"Use progression charts, and skill testing to help students acquire the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary.

"To condition the heart, lungs, and muscles to respond to increased demands by imposing progressively greater demands upon them.

"LONG TERM - To remain fit in all of the P.E. Attitudes:
        1.Physical Health
        2.Emotional Health
        3.General Wellness
