Students and Parents:
Each student in my core classes (8, 10, 12, and Elective) will have a calendar to follow each month with class activities and homework. If students are absent, they are responsible for the work missed.
In addition, I have started a blog and welcome students from each class to comment on questions posted. Some are for particular books being read in particular classes, and some are just general questions to get a discussion going. Feel free to check it out at : http://jmfield.edublogs.org
Thank you!

About me:
I began teaching in Sharon Springs in 1998. I have taught a variety of different grade levels from grade 4-grade 12. I am dually certified in Elementary Education and Secondary English. I received my B.A. in English Writing and Elementary Education from SUNY Potsdam in 1993 and my Masters in Education from the College of Saint Rose in 1999.
My husband and I moved to central New York from "downstate" in 1996. We love living in this area and consider central New York our "home". I live in Canajoharie with my husband and 11 year old twins. In my spare time I enjoy photography, reading, cooking, and scrapbooking. My husband is also a teacher, so our profession is really a "way of life" in our household! I also love to play volleyball, and coach modified in a neighboring district in the fall.
We love to travel together as a family and each vacation we try to go somewhere fun! Traveling is an education for all of us! Some of our favorite places are The Badlands; Arches National Park; Devils Tower; North Conway, NH; Walt Disney World; Huntington State Park, SC; NYC; and next summer we hope to add some European sites to this!
