About Me

I grew up in Port Leyden (a little town in Northern NY) located between the Adirondack Mountains and the Tug Hill Plateau in upstate NY.  Growing up I enjoyed the outdoors and playing in the woods.  The reason for me becoming a teacher can be placed on the excellent teaching of Mr. Comet and Mr. Rohr.  They showed me that science and agriculture could be fun while still learning.  I could never thank them enough.

I graduated from South Lewis High School in 2001 in a class of 86 students.  I then went to SUNY Morrisville where I earned an Associates degree in Agricultural Science.  Then I went on to pursue a teaching degree at SUNY Potsdam.  I graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Biology and a Bachelors of Arts in Science Education 7-12.  I decided to stay at SUNY Potsdam for my Master's that I complete in August 2007, when I received a MSED in Literacy.  I continued my Education Journey at Elmira Business Institute, where I received my Associates in Medical Assisting. I continue to take class at Cornell University as welll. Recently I earned another Masters degree in Educational Administration through Scranton University.

I have been teaching in the Elmira City School District since autumn of 2006(15 years). Currently I am a 7th grade Science teacher at Ernie Davis Academy. I coached modified girls basketball for two years.  It was a lot of fun.

In my spare time, I enjoy hiking, riding bike, hunting, fishing, kayaking, camping, and pretty much anything outdoors.

I have a 7 year old daughter who is my world.  She's constantly keeping me on my toes.  I also have a Black Lab/Great Dane mix who is very energetic. I also have a Mastiff/Cattle Dog/St. Bernard/Pit mix puppy who keeps my older dog entertained.
