     Pre-K General Information

School Hours:
School begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 2:00 p.m.
Please have your child here between
                  8:50 and 9:00 in the Pre-K entrance.

It is important thatthey arrive at this time so
we can start our school day promptly at 9:00.

Pick up time is 2:00 (also at the Pre-K entrance).

Attendance:

A successful school experience is the responsibility of the children,
the parent and the school.  Your child's progress, both academically
and socially, is influenced to a great extent by daily participation.
Regular attendance
without tardiness is a key.

Early pick-up for medical appointment/other reason:

Please send a note the day of early release.
At the designated time, go
directly to the office and sign your child out.

The office will call the classroom and your child will be sent to you at the
main office for immediate pick-up.

If your child is late for school:

Please use the school’s main entrance
and sign in at the office for a tardy pass for your child.

Visitor ID Stickers:

When school is in session all adults visiting the school must sign-in at the office
and wear an identification sticker.

School Work:

Please look in your child’s backpack each day!
Your child will have a
special folder to carry back and forth to school

in his/her backpack each day. These folders will contain their work and school news.

Please be positive and value the work your child has done at school.

You may also use the folders to send me notes or messages.

Lunch:
Lunch may be purchased for $1.70 each day.
Please be sure to look over the school lunch calendar to help assist your children in their choices when they arrive at school. In addition, you can access your child’s account online at Payschools.com. If your child is going to be bringing a lunch please be sure to send things that do not need to be heated up,
as we do not have access to a microwave.

Snacks:

We will have a small “healthy” snack each afternoon.
Each child will be responsible for bringing in their own snack each day.
Please make sure your
child knows what is for snack and what is for lunch.

Dress:

We will be going outside or to the gym everyday
Please make sure your child has comfortable shoes on.
Sneakers are best!

Rest Time:

Our class will rest for about 20 minutes each day in the afternoon.
Your
child is not required to go to sleep,
but will rest and relax quietly
during our
rest time.

Birthdays and Treats:

Simple treats may be sent to school on your child’s birthday.
Sending a birthday treat is optional.
Birthday treats are appreciated but certainly not expected.
We are a class of 18 students.
Parents - you are always welcome to participate in our birthday celebrations!

Book Orders:

Each month I will send home a Scholastic Book Club Catalog
for you and your child to look over.
This book club offers wonderful books at reduced prices.
What a great way to build your home library!

Parent Involvement:

Your support of school activities makes your child feel important
and sends the message that you value school!
We are always happy to have your help for special activities in the classroom.
You will also have the opportunity to volunteer assisting students
during our project activity time.

Snow Day/2 Hour Delay:

School will be cancelled for the day if a Snow Day is announced.
Listen to local radio stations or Channel 3 (TV).

When we have a 2 Hour Delay due to inclement weather,
the Pre-K Program will begin at 10:30.
