WOW! We had a very busy week in room 230!
We completed our baseline reading test and jumped right into math with Topic 17 where we learned about graphs and analyzing data. i have enjoyed getting to know the students and look forward to a great year.
Math
Our first math test on this topic on WEDNESDAY. There will be a review assignment sent home on Tuesday. Please go over this with your student to help prepare them for the test.
ELA
We will be reading Because of Winn Dixie this week and your student has homework to prepare for the story by reading the leveled reader which was sent home with them on Friday. You may have your student read it independently, partner read with them or read the text to them. Once they have read the book, please complete the worksheet and return both the book and worksheet on Monday. If you prefer, all of the leveled readers are available online at the Scott Foresman link, which will read it to them.
In addition, every main selection and and paired audio which gives background knowledge on the topic of the week is available on this website.
Spelling
Your student will be taking a pretest and creating a customized spelling list to use based on the errors from the pretest. This should help studying.
Grammar
Each week, your student will be completing a grammar topic with a quiz on Friday. The quiz will always be the last worksheet for that week located in the grammar workbook. Each Wednesday night, you may use the worksheet to study, but don't write the answers in.
