Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  This course is a study of United States History which begins with the arrival of the first Americans and culminates with the Civil War and Reconstruction.  This study of American History primarily focuses on the political, social and economic factors that impacted the development of our nation.  Throughout the course of study we will utilize primary source documents to begin to investigate and understand what life was like for early Americans and the challenges they faced in building the nation. The main objectives of this course are to further students' understanding of key concepts in U.S. History while developing vital social studies and critical thinking skills in accordance with the NY State Common Core Curriculum.  Grades will derive from three categories: Exams/Projects/Essays is worth 50% of the total average, Quizzes/Notebook is worth 25% of the total average, and Homework/Classwork is worth 25% of the total average.  I look forward to an exciting year!!  please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you have.  There is an email link on this page.
