Criminal Justice is a broad field. At the Bush Campus Criminal Justice Program, we will introduce students to a wide variety of criminal justice occupations. Upon graduation, students will be prepared to enter college, the military, or the workforce with the basic skills and knowledge to be successful. They will also be better prepared to be a productive and participating citizen of our democracy and community.

For juniors we will spend the first year exploring jobs such as dispatcher, security officer, police officer, firefighter, EMS professional, federal agent, politician, and lawyer. Students will learn how to use a portable radio, conduct a vehicle approach, verbally de-escalate crisis situations, use a fire extinguisher, conduct  a field interview and basic criminal investigation, research a legal brief, participate in a political campaign, and write related reports. Juniors are certified in Basic First Aid, CPR, and AED.

For seniors we will spend the second year exploring specialized jobs such as emergency management coordinator, VIP protection specialist, military police and intelligence analyst, CSI investigator, forensic scientist, medical examiner, law enforcement and defensive tactics instructor, and even fiction/true crime mystery writer. Students will learn, practice, and teach emergency response fundamentals to a wide variety of natural and man-made critical incidences. Students will conduct forensic science labs and complete a full-scale 6-week mock CSI. If they meet the prerequisites, seniors may participate in a 6 week internship at a local CJ agency. Also, as seniors, students will also serve as peer supervisors and emergency managers for several real-world special events.Seniors are cerified in multiple FEMA topics.

The first goal of this website is to provide a digital means to communicate information between teachers, students, and parents of the Bush Campus Criminal Justice class.Being able to access, understand, and organize data is an essential skill in the workforce.

The second goal of this site is to inspire students to go above and beyond. The ability to meet and exceed employer expectations can serve you well in whatever career path you follow.

The third goal of this site is to promote conservative and limit the number of paper copies made and distributed. This website will provide links to homework assignments, vocabulary lists, and reference/resource material. It includes links to articles and websites that may be valuable. Please explore.

I hope you will discover that communication, integrity, self-discipline, creative problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership are fundamental to success for all job titles within the criminal justice field. Here, in this program, you will practice them all.

Best Wishes!
