About Me

About Me

I am a proud graduate of Odessa-Montour Central School, class of 1993. I attended SUNY Cortland, where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Childhood Education and graduated summa cum laude. I also earned my Master's Degree in Childhood Education with a concentration in Technology at SUNY Cortland. I am a certified birth through grade 6 teacher.

I began substitute teaching at Watkins Glen and Odessa-Montour Schools in 1999. After several years, I decided to pursue a career in teaching. In 2007 I began teaching fifth grade at Odessa  where I stayed for 5 years. I began teaching sixth grade in 2013.

I have a daughter named Peighton who was born in 2002. She attends Watkins Glen High School. Peighton has been swimming since she was five years old and is a passionate and dedicated swimmer.

We have a pet pug named Mikey who is spoiled rotten, but is oh so lovable! We also have a black cat named Max. I will speak of Peighton, Mikey, and Max often!

My favorite color is green, my favorite holiday is Halloween, and my favorite food is sushi.

I am a HUGE Harry Potter fan and believe the movies do not do the books justice! The books are ALWAYS better than the movies.

Teaching is not just a job to me...it is my calling. You will hear me refer to my students as my kids because this is how I think of our classroom...as a family. I promise I will do my best to be fair and understanding and show families and students the respect with which I wish to be shown.
