Welcome to Health Education!

Hello, welcome!  I am Mrs. Swinnerton, the Health educator for grades 7-12 in the Watkins Glen High School.  I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to work with our youth in helping to guide them toward healthy lifestyles.  Working together I am confident we will have a fun and successful semester!

I am also the advisor of our student wellness group, which is called SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions).  It is student-led and we can focus on any area of wellness or focus on activities to promote a positive school climate.   Students should consider joining if they are passionate about creating a positive, happy, and healthy environment for teens in our community. I hope to see you or your student at a meeting!

Grade 7 Health Education (1 Semester Course)

Grade 7 Health Education is a one semester course at the middle school level.  I will see students every other day (A or B day) throughout the entire school year or every day for one semester, depending on scheduling.  Grades in this course are calculated into the students' overall average.  We will cover many health topics and skills relevant to the middle school student's age and growth. I expect each student to come to class each day with a pen/pencil, three-ring binder, completed hormework (if assigned), and a POSITIVE attitude.  If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.  It is easiest to contact me through email mswinner@wgcsd.org.  I look forward to a great year!
