2011 - 2012

     Welcome to the science web page. This year we will be working with a new science program called FOSS.  Foss stands for Full Option Science System.  It is an Inquiry based system that allows students to work in groups and move at their own pace. When they make discoveries they take what they have learned and build on those discoveries. This program is a very strong cross curricular program. Students will be required to have a Science composition notebook that will be graded.  We will be having a FOSS information night on September 22nd( Open House).      
       
      I will also be using Habits of Mind which helps students think about the qualities that  make a good worker/learner.  I am looking forward to a great year.
