The Reading Is Fundamental (R.I.F) program is a highly motivational program for our first and second grade students. The joy of reading is celebrated.  Two times a year our children have the opportunity to select a book to keep for their own reading enjoyment. They make the choice from hundreds of books provided by the R.I.F. Committee, headed by Coburn's Parent Partner. At Book Selection Time, the reading celebration usually centers around a theme.  Students may even put on a performance. This is just one of the many ways we try to encourage families to read together.
