Computer Lab

Students today live in a technological world.  For Coburn students to be computer comfortable, they were fortunate to acquire 25 new Dells at the beginning of the 2002 school year, to achieve that goal. Weekly visits to the Lab are built in to their academic schedule.

The Computer Lab is a busy place. Students work on the Compass Program, take Accelerated Reader tests and work on Technology Benchmarks. They use Microsoft Office applications and publish their writings using Microsoft Word. Students learn to be Internet safe, responsible and how to use the World Wide Web - Internet's extensive Library. We also go on virtual field trips to places such as Australia and Africa. We visit the Statue of Liberty, Liberty Bell and the White House.

Teachers recognize the fact that technology can be  integrated in their grade level curriculum.  The ability to have every student on a computer at the same time makes technology integration a more natural part of the learning process.
