All About Mrs. Miele!
 
Mrs. Laura Miele is a native of Elmira, NY. She graduated from Southside High School in 2003, and continued her education at Fredonia State University. She received both, a Bachelor of Music in Music Education and a Master of Music in Music Education in 2007 and 2008, respectively, with Performance Honors. She was also a Graduate Assistant, where she taught undergraduate voice classes to non-vocal majors, and did an internship with the Chautauqua Children’s Chorale where she directed the third through fifth grade ensemble. 
 
She has also completed Levels I, II and III of the Orff-Schulwerk Teacher Education Course at the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, NY. Orff-Schulwerk is a developmental approach to music education that combines music, movement, drama, and speech into lessons in a fashion similar to a child's world of play.

She is currently in her 12th year of teaching, all of which have been in the Elmira City School District. She has taught at Beecher Elementary, Hendy Elementary, Southside High School, Riverside Elementary, Parley Coburn Elementary and now Broadway Elementary.
