Miss Judy's classroom has just eight amazing students.  Our classroom aide is Miss Brenda, and Miss Sandy provides counseling services.  We work together to do our best! We welcome in each day with a fresh, positive attitude! 

This type of classroom is often called an "8:1:1" Special Education setting, and the staff are employed through G.S.T BOCES.  

8:1:1 Classrooms are often taught in community school settings, and we are very proud to be a part of Center Street School in Horseheads, New York.   Miss Judy's class is located in Room 125.   Our telephone number is  (607) 795-2580.  Please feel free to contact us at any time with questions or concerns!

Students in our classroom may be in 2nd or 3rd grade.  They may live in Horseheads, or in our neighboring school districts.  Together, we create a positive learning team!

Parent support, and open communication between home and school  is an important part of our program!   Our students earn points for making good choices, and will bring a Daily Point Sheet home with them.    

Our goal is to help our students progress in all areas - academic, social, and behavioral.  We have a positive behavioral management system in place, with frequent rewards and privileges built into the classroom day.   We follow Core Curriculum Standards, modified whenever necessary to best meet individual student needs and learning styles.  

We strongly believe that every child can learn, and together, we  can provide the support and encouragement that allows students to meet and surpass their goals!  Our academic lessons and assignments reflect confidence in our students, and in their ability to succeed!
