          Bus Garage:          

Bus transportation schedules have been finalized and will be communicated by the bus garage.
 
If you have questions regarding bus schedules, please call the bus garage at 735-3950.


 Breakfast & Lunch Program: 


Students will receive meals at no charge.  Snacks and
 ala carte sides may be purchased for an additional charge.  Menus and PaySchools information can be found on our district website.  Please contact the Food Service Office at 735-3236 with additional questions. 
 
Breakfast is available daily from 8:15 – 9:00am. 
 
Lunch times can be found on the class period schedule
as well as your child’s schedule.  

 

      Morning Arrival:       
Walkers:
  • Drop off at Main Entrance Doors, 8:15am
Bus Students:
  • Drop off at Cafeteria Doors, starting at 8:15am
Supervision by EDA staff members will begin at 8:15am
When students arrive, they will be directed to the gymnasium until the bell releasing them to 1st period rings. 
Please do not drop students off before 8:15am as there will be no supervision available.

   Afternoon Dismissal:   

Walkers:
  • Pick up at Main Entrance Doors, 3:14pm
Bus Students:
  • Pick up at Cafeteria Doors
 
When dropping off/picking up students please pull to the front of the drop off/pick up loop and park along the curb.  This will keep traffic moving and limit the amount of congestion in the front of the building.
 
Please do not double park or block the driving lanes!
 

 APEX After School Project: 
The 2019-20 APEX Project will begin Monday, September 30th, 2019 APEX will be held Monday Tuesday & Thursday.  All APEX Participants will meet in the Cafeteria at 3:15 where they will be given their snack and schedule. The first session at EDA starts at 3:25. Each session is one hour long,
3:25 – 4:25pm & 4:25– 5-:25pm.
Students are not required to stay for both sessions, but we encourage enjoying both a tutoring and an enrichment opportunity.

New this year from the yearbook Commitee:
Create the cover!

Create the 2019-20 EDA Yearbook Cover! Use your artistic ability & creative thought to design the 2019-2020 Yearbook Cover. A winner will
receive a free yearbook, with personalization & an
icon plus a $50.00 gift card of your choice*.
 
Submissions are due by October 1, 2019.
 
No late entries will be accepted due
to deadline with Jostens.
 
We encourage students to get involved & be part of the creation of the yearbook. We meet on Tuesdays & Thursdays after school 3:30 – 4:30. We need editors, page creators & photographers. Just because you can’t attend meetings doesn’t mean you can’t be involved. We always need photos & the program is web-based.

All students will change out of school clothes and into PE clothing each class.  Listed below is acceptable clothing for class:

 VOLUNTEER: 
Within all the schools in our district, there are many ways parents and other community members can help support our children.

VOLUNTEERING

Senior volunteers through RSVP: If you are a senior citizen, consider registering with RSVP of Chemung County.

Join a Board of Education committee: Several volunteers are needed on our School Board committees. Contact Kathleen McDarby (kmcdarby@elmiracityschools.com), Board clerk, for more information.

Volunteer to tutor: Are you an expert in your field? Retired teacher? Do you have an interest in one-on-one tutoring? Contact Derek Almy at 735-3040 (dalmy@elmiracityschools.com) for details.

Volunteer to tell students about your career/job: Do you have an interesting job? Do you have a rewarding career? Are you a minority who has broken barriers in your field? Share your experience with a class through our Career and Technical Education Program. Contact Shelley Bailey to make arrangements (sbailey@elmiracityschools.com).

OTHER WAYS TO GET INVOLVED
Donate: Your donation can purchase school supplies, a workbook - or help a student pay for the SAT or AP exam. For information, call 735-3010.

Cheer: Attend a sporting event. Schedules are available at schedulegalaxy.com.

Teach: Become a substitute teacher or obtain permanent teaching certification. Call the Personnel Department at 735-3020 for more information.

Vote: In school board elections, budget votes and referendums, every vote matters.

Join: Booster clubs rely on community and alumni support to buy athletic and physical education supplies.

Enjoy: Support our performers at a play, concert or musical.

Host: If you own a business, bring in a student intern and provide real work experience. For information about hosting an intern, call 735-3366.

Share: Whatever your talent or "treasure," share it with a child. You will make a difference!

    You and your student can have 24-7 access to his/her academic information with Parent Portal and Student Portal!
These Portals give you immediate access to:
  •      Grades
  •      Real time averages
  •      assignment grades
  •      attendance history
  •      student schedules
  •      email teachers with a click of a button

All of this right from your computer, phone or other electronic device.

   Sign in with your work or school account                                          
  Your student should already have a Student Portal account. This account gives your student access to all of the same information you have with Parent Portal. Plus, free access to Office365. With Office365 student now has free access to Microsoft office Online Business Suite of 2016 Software. Which includes:
  • a school email
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, OneNote
  • OneDrive
  • Yammer
  • Sway

What is a FCO Coordinator (Parent Partner)?
The role of the FCO Coordinator (Parent Partner) is to advocate communication and involvement with Ernie Davis Academy's families, while providing information, support and resources based on actual family needs. FCO Coordinator (Parent Partner) will provide programs and activities to promote family involvement in their 8th & 9th grader's academic success.

In short, I am here to help support the connection between your family and Ernie Davis Academy!
