In The Vampire Daries Elena, Bonnie, and Meredith are in Caroline's house looking for Elena's diary that Caroline stole. Just as they were about to give up Meredith felt a corner of a diary underneath Caroline's bedspread. Meredith pulled it out from under the mattress thinking it was Elena's but they were unsure because the lights were off and all they had was a flashlight for light. The diary was green instead of blue meaning that the diary was Caroline's. They were a little unsure of the color so Elena, Bonnie, and Meredith read it just to make sure and they found out that Caroline wrote mean stuff about then in the diary. Elena is worried that Caroline will read her diary and find out all of Elena's secret including that Stefan is a vampire. When they heard a car pull up at the house the quickly put the diary back and went out the back door. Well at least Bonnie and Meredith did. Elena did not know what to do so she went out Caroline's window so she did not get caught. Damon showed up to save Elena and took Elena home.
