In my novel, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli, the young girl, Stargirl, goes and changes her high school. I believe that it would be possible for this story to take place in Livonia, but I don’t think it would have as big of a effect as it did at her high school. I feel this way, because at Stargirl’s high school everything and everyone is mundane. Nobody participates, volunteers, helps or anything really. So when Stargirl comes in and does wondrous things she brings her school back to life! Yet, if Stargirl were to do those things at Livonia I don’t think she would have as much of an impact on the kids, because some of the things that she did, we did too. For example, Stargirl songs “Happy Birthday” to kids at lunch, and at Livonia we have a birthday club where we give Happy Birthday signs to kids on their birthdays. So, like I said before, I think that Stargirl could definitely take place in Livonia, but I don’t think she would have as big of an effect on the people around her.
