Instruction and Assignments for March 9  - 12 , 2015

Students continue to learn about the Imperfect tense and Preterite tense in Spanish class.  This past tense is used under specific circumstances, and students will receive the rules for its use.  
 
This week's grade will ask students to compose original sentences in both the preterite and imperfect tenses.  It will also involve being able to choose the correct past tense when given different situations.

Students have received vocabulary sheets for the new unit entitled "Celebrations and Traditions".  The grammar for this unit remains the study of the past tenses: the imperfect and the preterit.   We are studying in anticipation of a written summative assessment in 3-4 weeks.  There is a vocab quiz on the first page of vocabulary this Friday. 
17This week March 16 - 20

There is an important test in Spanish class this week.  On Thursday and Friday, (March 26 and 27), students will be asked to write a 150 word essay in Spanish based on a past celebration or holiday of their choice.      Students have written this essay out in English, and will be practicing writing these sentences in Spanish on Tuesday and Wednesday.   They will have two entire class periods to write the essay on Thursday and Friday.  On these days they will not be able to use notes, dictionaries, or outside resources.

Please ask your student to practice, work hard this week before break, and ask questions in class.
