Things You Should Know

Daily Special Rotation

Monday - Art
Tuesday - P.E.
Wednesday- Music
Thursday - Library
Friday - P.E.

Students will not be allowed to participate in P.E. if they are not wearing sneakers.  It may work better for you to keep an extra pair in school.  We have room in our cubbies to store them.

Library books that have been borrowed must be returned before another book may be checked out.  Please help your child remember to bring their library books back every Thursday.

Many of the students have been bringing toys from home in their backpacks.  This makes for so many classroom distractions during the day.  If your child attends the afterschool program, and they want to bring a toy from home, please discuss with them that these toys should be left in their backpacks during the regular school day.  OTHERWISE, ALL TOYS SHOULD BE LEFT AT HOME.  I would hate for one of their toys to turn up missing.

Scholastic Book cataloges will be coming home each month.  It is a great way to purchase  books for less than you would pay at most bookstores.  Reading to your child is one of the best ways that we can help promote literacy, and it is also a perfect opportunity to share some quiet time with your child.  Make it a habit that you will both enjoy!

The Pizza Hut Book-It program runs from October through March.  It gives you a chance to read with your child and earn free pizza.  Keep track of your minutes read on the calendars that will be coming home. Good luck reaching our monthly goal!

Our Elementary school is very proud of the fact that we are helping our Earth by Going Green!  The students are becoming more aware of what they can do to help within our school to keep our environment clean and healthy.  We ask that if you are sending in supplies for parties or events, please do not send in styrofoam products as they are not recycleable and are difficult to reuse.

Many parents have sent hand santizer to school with their children.  It is not a problem to use as often as they feel the need, but I will continue to encourage more frequent hand washing as the best alternative to fighting germs.  I have found that many students are under the impression that they just need to use the sanitizer products.  Please discuss this with your child prior to sending in the sanitizer products.
