Course Expectations

The following classroom and grading policies have been established to ensure every student's success.  Each student's success depends on daily preparation and class participation.

GOALS:  Students will be able to read, speak and write in Spanish.  They will also experience and appreciate the cultures of the people you communicate in Spanish.

EXPECTATIONS: Students will demonstrate mutual respect for others in the classroom and be responsible for their own behavior.  Students will come to class ready to learn.

ASSIGNMENTS AND GRADING: Students are asked to do their daily reading and studying of the target language aloud.  Written homework is generally assigned 3 - 5 times a week.  They daily assignments are posted on the board in the classroom and are posted on my web page through the district website.  In addition to completing written work, each student needs to spend 10 - 15 minutes daily on dialog practice and mastery of vocabulary.

GRADING POLICY         Homework:    20%

Unit Tests, Quizzes, Participation,

Required Materials:        *  1" Binder - I recommend the Staples "Better" View with D rings.  The kids are hard on their binders.  I recomment a hard covered binder.  The flexible one tend to break down.  This binder should stay with them for the next two years.  The color is up to them.  Item #648812
