Course Overview
Global 10 is the second half of a two year course, continuing on from ninth grade. In order to graduate students are expected to pass both the course and the Regents exam at the end of tenth grade. The Global Studies curriculum provides students with the opportunity to explore what is happening in various regions and civilizations at a given time. Students will also investigate issues and themes from multiple perspectives and make global connections that lead to in depth understanding.
Course Objectives
- Gain a greater appreciation for the global community as well as its diversity.
- Understand the roles other nations have had in sculpting the world we live in today.
- Comprehend the political, social, and economic practices other nations, both past and present.
- Foster a greater interest in the global history.
- Have fun!!!

Grading Breakdown
Homework – 20%
Quizzes – 15%
Tests – 35%
Class Participation – 15%

Homework Policy
- Any homework not handed in at the beginning of the class period it is due will lose 25% each day that it is not handed in.
- You CANNOT turn in homework for late credit if it is graded during class or if we go over it during class.
- If you are absent from class it is your responsibility to see me or another member of the class regarding any missed class work or assignments.
