Welcome back! Here are the presently scheduled instrumental events. Not all will apply to you. It is your responsibility to make sure you work your outside commitments around scheduled ensemble concerts. If you have any questions about what may or may not apply to you, please feel free to contact me, and have you parents contact me.
Fall Band:

- December 15th – WINTER CONCERT - HS Wind Ensemble, HS Concert Band, MS Select Choir 7:30pm HS Auditorium – Everyone please bring holiday cookies for reception! Extras are donated to our local First Responders!

Horseheads HS Concert Band & Wind Ensemble Course Outline –COURSE INFORMATION
Band Lessons are on a rotating basis through periods 1, 3, 7, 9, 2, 4, 8, 10, on a six day rotation. Mrs. Matejka teaches all the lessons. Lesson attendance will be entered into SchoolTool, which eventually will be accessible to parents who sign up to access all your classes online. Grading is based on attendance and progress in lessons and in class. If you need to reschedule your lesson due to tests or presentations please see Mrs. Matejka as soon BEFORE the lesson as possible.
Students are responsible for being on time for class, having an instrument in working condition with all needed accessories (reeds, mouthpieces, valve oil, grease, cleaning supplies, etc.), not losing music, having their lesson book, and having a pencil in folder for all rehearsals.
Attendance at Concerts and any extra rehearsals is mandatory, as is being able to play your music and attending lessons. Concert attire is Black and White – Gentlemen: Black pants, White button-down shirt, subdued tie, black socks, dress shoes/no sneakers; Ladies: Black dresses/or skirts with black hosiery, black shoes. You may wear a white blouse if you are wearing a black skirt or black dress pants. Concerts are considered a major exam and it is impossible to individually make up a concert.
