Reading at Home

    Reading to your child has been been proven to help your child improve their reading and begin their love for reading.

When reading with your child there are several activities that you

can do:

       look for popcorn words that they may recognize .

       let your child "read" the book by looking at the pictures

        predict what is going to happen in the story

        let your child "read" a well known story to you.

Each month I will be sending home a recording sheet for at home reading.  When you read a book to your child or your child reads a book, please have your child color in the icon.  When all of the icons have been colored in, please sign and send it into school.  Your child will recieve an award for each completed sheet.
