Second semester is about to begin. Mrs. Amey ( my wonderful aide) and I continue to teach Math and English to our students. We also have a project writing to a group of Marines in Afghanistan. Almost all of our students are taking part and enjoying the experience. We recently received a group photograph from them. 

Our work with English will begin with Mark Twain short stories. Your student will be gaining skills in vocabulary, reading and comprehension. Clearly writing will be a means of demonstrating understanding. Reading books do not leave our classroom. But homework will be happening twice a week at least.


In Math our focus will begin with all things graphing. Expect homework. This is very challenging section of the curriculum. Many student will be asked to redo material until they show mastery.
