Activities for Parents at Home
1. Play age appropriate board games with your child. They are great for math, reading, problem solving, and logic.
2. Read to and with your child. Ask them to identify characters, setting, problem and solution. Have them draw a picture or write about their favorite character or part in the story. Work on sequencing the events of the story and discuss what happens at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end.
3. Review sight words and letter names/sounds on a daily basis. Have them read and write the words.
4. Have them practice writing cvc words, ie. consonant, vowel, consonant words such as cat, hat, fin, bit, etc
