Expectations
My classroom rules are very simple: 1. Be good. 2. Be good. 3. Be good.

I expect students to come into my classroom ready to learn and participate as well as they can. Students are encouraged to try new songs, dances and ideas. I strive to create a classroom environment where no one makes fun of anyone else as they attempt to do unfamiliar activities.

No student will be allowed to impede the learning of others. My discipline policy consists of a warning, followed by moving the student to another seat, and a third infraction results in student being removed from the room for time-out in the office.

I know a good offense is the best defense, so I plan activities to thoroughly engage the kids and minimize discipline problems.

Concert expectations are as follows: All members of the chorus are expected to be at all performances. I understand that events come up that make this difficult, and in those cases, please be considerate enough to write me a note and let me know. It is extremely difficult for some students to figure out where they stand on the risers when the kid next to them is missing!!!

I would very much appreciate it if you would plan to stay for the entire concert, not just your child's part of it. Every young musician deserves a good audience. Our concerts rarely last more than an hour, and that's not even as long as a good movie or a video game!! Please enjoy the entire concert!

It is true that when the kids look their best, it helps them perform their best. Please invest in nice clothes for your son or daughter. Jeans and shorts are simply not proper concert attire.
