Orchestra Contract

Orchestra Contract, 2017-2018

 

I have read the Orchestra Expectations outlined in the 2017-2018 handbook, and agree to follow them. I understand that failure to meet these expectations will result in a lowered grade and/or disciplinary action as appropriate.

 

Required Materials – due by the end of the second week of school (Friday, Sept. 22). If there are any issues please contact Ms. Weber prior to that deadline. If your child has an instrument from the summer, please have them bring it in as soon as possible.

 

  • Instrument and bow in good condition. Case should be marked with your name.

  • 1-inch binder with 3 rings. Please do not use a bigger binder.

  • Lesson book. (provided if needed)

  • Rosin. (One piece provided per year. Additional rosin is $1.00)

  • Shoulder rest or endpin rest. (provided if needed)

  • Cleaning cloth for your instrument (this can be any piece of fabric – a piece of an old shirt or small dishcloth works).

 

Liberty Central Schools Orchestra Event Calendar 2017-2018 (required events). Please put them in your calendar now and plan for your child to attend. (Only the groups your child is in.)

  • December 6, 2016, 7 pm – 5th- and 6th-Grade Winter Concert (Snow date December 7)

  • December 9, 2016, 7 pm – High School Honors Winter Concert (Snow date December 19)

  • December 12, 2016, 7 pm – 7th- and 8th-Grade Winter Concert (Snow date December 13)

  • December  15, 2016, 7 pm – High School Winter Concert (Snow date December 21)

  • December 22, 2016, 2 pm – High School Concert Assembly – Ensembles TBA

  • March 8, 2017, 7 pm – High School Pops Concert (Snow date March 9)

  • May 19, 2017, 7 pm – 7th- and 8th Grade Spring Concert

  • May 11, 2017, 7 pm – High School Honors Spring Concert

  • May 16, 2017, 7 pm – 5th- and 6th-Grade Spring Concert

  • May 17, 2017, 7 pm – High School Spring Concert

  • TBA – NYSSMA Major Organization Festival – Ensembles TBA

  • June 6, 2017, 7 pm – Middle/High School Annual Awards Ceremony

 

Additional Performance Dates (depending on participation and/or selection)

  • March 3–4, 2017 – All-County Music Festival, Tri-Valley

  • May 12 and 13, 2017 – NYSSMA Solo Festival, Liberty

 

*Please be aware that there will be additions and changes to the calendar as we progress through the year. Students will be given advance notice.

I have read the whole Handbook, including the Orchestra Expectations, the Required Materials list, the Event Calendar, and the Contract and will make every effort to adhere to them. This contract is a sign of my commitment to the orchestra. I understand that any breach of this contract may affect my ability to participate in the group.

 

Both the student and parent/guardian must sign the contract. Please return to Ms. Weber by Friday, September 22, 2017.
