The MS-HS Library subscribes to multiple databases to aid teacher and student research. These include professional development e-book resources and multimedia materials for lessons, as well as full-text peer reviewed and trade publications.

Opposing Viewpoints in Context  brings both sides of controversial topics to the table.  Placing these viewpoints into current situations can help students investigate and then form their own opinions or views about a subject or issue.  Password is:  trojans.

The ASCD Professional Development eBook Collection is a Gale subscription through BOCES. Through this database you can read full ebooks (shown on the virtual shelves) or enter search terms for full text searches of your research inside collection items. Once you have selected an item for viewing, you will be prompted to enter a password. Type the word: main.

Noodle Tools offers students note-taking, outlining and source-citation support. A valuable resource for writers of research and school papers.

NOVEL / Grolier has Encyclopedias and reference tools...including Spanish language resources. School logins users : nystate 1755 with password : novelhome.

NOVEL / Gale Virtual Reference Library is  a large collection of databases on topics from Agriculture to Fine Arts. Password for school access is: main.

 ProQuest Direct is the library's subscription to ProQuest and provides Newfield students, faculty, and staff with access to the following 5 databases: USA Today, Reference, ProQuest Discovery, KidsQuest Magazines, and The Christian Science Monitor. The username for this database is 05-15325 and the password is: bigchalk.

Teaching Books has multimedia resources for enriching and broadening student understanding of fiction and non-fiction texts through author interviews and movies, booklists, book guides and lesson plans, and more. This subscription is provided by BOCES and you are automatically signed on from any computer station in the school (password is tstsls). Remote access may be limited.
