Mrs. Shults was born in Cortland, New York and several years later her family moved to Newfield. She graduated from Newfield High School in 1983. She also holds degrees from SUNY Cortland and Elmira. She has been teaching at Newfield Elementary School since the fall of 1988.

     Mrs. Shults is active on many curriculum activities at school. She enjoys supporting her students with academics in class and supporting her students outside of class at sporting and musical events.

     At home, Mrs. Shults enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She also enjoys reading good mysteries, playing her flute and baking treats. She is often found at football fields and ice rinks watching her son play hockey and football.
