EXPECTATIONS & GUIDELINES
BUSINESS MATH
MRS. McCOY-WOODS

BASIC EXPECTATIONS
  • BE RESPECTFUL OF YOURSELF, PEERS, MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT
  • ARRIVE ON TIME, READY TO WORK
  • BE PREPARED WITH ALL NECESSARY CLASS MATERIALS
  • DO YOUR HOMEWORK
  • ASK QUESTIONS

LATE TO CLASS….The overall expectation is that you WILL BE on time

  • If you are late, HAVE A PASS
  • Excessive late w/o a pass = lunch detention
  • I reserve the right to determine what “excessive” means
  • I reserve the right to take passes as well.

PASSES:
  • YOU MAY NOT LEAVE THE ROOM WITHOUT A PASSBOOK
  • PLEASE DO NOT INTERRUPT A LESSON TO ASK TO LEAVE THE ROOM
  • IF IT IS AN EMERGENCY (I.E. YOU ARE GOING TO BE SICK) YOU MAY LEAVE WITHOUT PERMISSION!

INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE/GENERAL BEHAVIOR
Please remember, you are in the classroom. No rude or intentionally hurtful language or behavior will be tolerated at any time and will result in immediate removal from the room. Your behavior affects EVERYONE. If behavior causes dismissal from class, it will result in a zero for the activity with NO chance to make it up. Provided that you are not told to leave the room, inappropriate behavior will be dealt with as follows:

  • 1ST OFFENSE = WARNING
  • 2ND OFFENSE = TEACHER DETENTION
  • 3RD OFFENSE = WRITE UP for insubordination, classroom disruption, and disrespectful to staff

HOMEWORK

  • Due on date given
    • We will go over it, if you don’t hand it in, there is NO chance to make it up and you will receive a ZERO.  This will affect your grade.
  • Many assignments will be completed in class.

ATTENDANCE

  • It is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO GET YOUR WORK AFTER AN ABSENCE………..I WILL NOT SEEK YOU OUT
  • If you haven’t made up the work, INCLUDING QUIZZES AND TESTS,WITHIN 3 DAYS of your return, you will receive a  ZERO!  Extended absences will be allowed more time for make ups.

·         Sometimes it is difficult to “re-create” the class work.  You may be given an alternate assignment to take the place of the one the class did.  For example, if you miss a group activity, you will be given an alternate assignment that covers the same material.

TESTS & QUIZZES

Will be given regularly.  Quizzes may be given unannounced.  Tests will be given at the end of units.  The absence policy must be followed for making up tests & quizzes.
