Welcome to Mrs. Brigham's Living Environment Course!

This semester your child is preparing to take the Living Environment Regents exam in January/June. This site can help to reinforce student success in this course. On this site you will find a calendar to let you prepare for quizzes and major exams ahead of time. Flashcards will allow students to review essential vocabulary.  Take a look at the bookmarks, which offer review and reinforcement sites (including old Regents exams.) Please email any questions or concerns.

Course Grading:
  • Homework/classwork 25%   (HW is half credit when received up to one day late. After 24 hours from the due date, it is a zero.)
  • Unit Exams 30%
  • Labs 25% (Late labs or corrections can be made during the marking period for a 65%. Corrections can be made one marking period past for Regents exam eligibility, but the grade will not change from the initial marking period assigned. A lab will not be graded more than twice. If a lab is late and not passing, no grade is assigned until it is satisfactory (at least 65% quality).
  • Quizzes 20%

**All assignments are due at the beginning of the first period class with me. Even when we have a double period day, work is due when the first class starts.

Attendence:
Refer to your students handbook regarding attendance policies at Horseheads High School. There is a known correlation between attendance and academic performance. It is the responsibility of each student to be in school and in class at all times. A student must be present for 85% of a course's scheduled classes in order to earn course credit. Schedule appointments for after school or during your activity period.
You will be required to make up all work when absent. It is your responsibility to find out what you missed and to turn in back work.
