Reminders for starting a new semester:

Be involved from the beginning.

Be sure your child is organized and using their assignment pad to keep track of homework.

Monitor attendence. This is a performance-based class. Students cannot meet the lab requirement if they are not here to perform the lab skills.

Prioritize academic work.

Establish an after-school routine. Have a well lit space, free from distraction, for your child to study.

Have daily communication with your child. Ask specific questions on what was learned.

Monitor your childs progress through the Parent Portal on SchoolTool. Contact the guidance office for assistance and a password hcsdportalinfo@horseheadsdistrict.com.

Be sure your child is eating sensible meals and getting sufficient sleep away from distraction.

If a problem arises contact their teacher immediately.
