In January 2009, Newfield Elementary School joined the Go Green Initiative, a nationwide organization that encourages and supports districts to manage their waste in an environmentally-friendly way.  In keeping with the Go Green Initiative's 5 Goals, our school has implemented the following plan.

Year 1

•      Recycle throughout the school
•      Educate our students about environmentally friendly waste to reduce waste
•      Reduce our paper consumption

Year 2

•      Evaluate a specific program that affects our local environment
•      Compost in our classrooms and cafeteria
