Homework Guidelines

Homework is a very important part of education. Students are expected to
practice the skills and concepts we've discussed in class each night by
completing their homework assignments.

Students can expect to have homework Monday through Thursday for ELA and Math. This can include workbook pages, worksheets, and/or textbook assignments. In Science and Social Studies students will have homework 1-3 times per week, since we only have class every other day for each subject.

Each day homework assignments will be explained and written on the board.
Students will be given time to write down their assignments typically toward
the end of class. It is the student's responsibility to write down the full
assignment in their tracker
. The school provides one tracker per student (if
they lose theirs they will need to purchase another one). Trackers will be
handed out during the first week of school. In order to ensure your child has
completed the necessary assignments please check their tracker each night, and ask to see their completed assignments. If you start to notice that there are no assignments written down, this should be a red flag. Speak to your child, or contact me so we can address the problem as soon as possible.

Homework Guidelines:

1.  All homework should be completed daily and ready to be handed in first thing each morning.

2.  Students with incomplete assignments will be kept in for lunch detention.  They will use this time to work on the owed assignment.  If they are unable to finish the assignment during lunch detention it should be completed for homework and  turned in the following day during homeroom. Sometimes students will be asked to bring their lunch to the room if the assignment will take more than a few minutes. Otherwise students are only kept for a few minutes to complete the assignment and then they may go down to the cafeteria for the remainder of the period to eat.

3.  Students will have ONE day to make up an assignment and earn a maximum grade of 75%. If the assignment is NOT received by the following day the student will recieve a zero.

4.  If there are extenuating circumstances due to illness, etc. the time will be extended as necessary.
